2022-2023 Performances
The Game's Afoot
On February 2023, thirty high school actors performed Ken Ludwig's murder mystery, The Game's Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays. The play is set in December of 1936, as Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, suffers an assassination attempt while on stage. Two weeks later, on Christmas Eve, he invites his fellow cast members to his Connecticut mansion to celebrate the holiday. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous.
This production consisted of a unit set, vintage props, and costumes. In addition to the actors, more students assisted with the backstage crew. The play was directed by Ms. Larissa Cahill, and was well received by the audience. During all three performances, audiences were dazzled and thrilled by the sights and sounds of the performers. In addition to the mystery, there was a lot of humor and dark comedy in the show.
The cast was extremely talented and professional after nearly three months of training and rehearsals; we are looking forward to the next performance this year, and we can see several future professional actors among our high school students.
