Welcome to AIS - West Athletics:
AIS - West believes in offering a wide array of athletic opportunities to students striving for competitive excellence while encouraging the highest levels of sportsmanship and fair play. Students at AIS - West have an opportunity to participate in a wide variety of Athletics at the high school (Varsity), middle school, and elementary school levels.
In our Middle School Athletics program, we strive to promote healthy competition and to embody the highest ideals of sportsmanship and respect. Participation, performance, and competition in the athletic program will focus on the opportunity for students to develop and exhibit skills to the best of their abilities.
At the high school level, AIS - West is a member of CISSA West (Cairo International School Sports Association) which includes other schools in close proximity to our campus. We are currently pursuing becoming a member of an International Sports League, and hope to offer international competition in the near future. Our competitive/varsity teams also compete with the other member schools in ESOL when available.
AIS - West will follow a standard American Sports model with Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Middle School Athletics. Each season will be 8-10 weeks in duration with multiple local games and tournaments as part of the season.
In the near future, we foresee AIS - West competing in an established international league with our Varsity teams.
AIS - West also competes with the other member schools in CISSA which follow a British Sports Model.
