PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

CRAIG

Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year. It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I begin my first year at AIS - West. I am very proud to be a part of this outstanding school and community. As an educational leader, I bring an unyielding commitment to children, educators, and parents. I believe that students must be inspired and guided to innovate, create, and think on a higher level. In my view creativity and innovation are the engine of achievement and a student’s interests and talents must help drive the curriculum if they are to be truly engaged in their learning. AIS - West High School believes in the importance of ensuring students understand that a high quality education will provide them a passport to a life full of opportunities.

My wish for AIS - West students is that you live your life to the fullest, not afraid to jump and take the risks necessary to become all that you can be. Achieving your own greatness is not about being lucky, it is about finding your own greatness within you! I believe it is within us all, we simply have to work hard and believe in ourselves and what we can accomplish.

It is my desire that every AIS - West student first and foremost feels welcome and safe here at school. I am honored to ensure that each and every AIS - West student has the opportunity to thrive and receive the highest level of education possible from our exceptional and talented AIS - West teachers. I look forward to an incredible year full of learning and possibilities!

VICE PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Hello Everyone!

I am thrilled to welcome our students and their families to the AIS West High School community. We know that starting high school can be a daunting experience, but we are here to support you every step of the way.

During my long career in education, I have been fortunate to work with High School students in many capacities. I have enjoyed being a teacher, consultant, principal examiner, IB Coordinator, and administrator. I have always believed that all students deserve to feel safe and supported at school, so I am proud to be part of a team committed to creating a learning environment where all students can thrive.

A great deal of that commitment revolves around providing our students with a world-class education that prepares them for success in college, career, and life. It is so exciting to be a young person nowadays, with so many incredible opportunities and adventures laying ahead. In order to help you succeed in an ever-changing, competitive world, our academic programs are rigorous and challenging, and our extracurricular activities are diverse and engaging. We believe that all students can learn and grow, and we are committed to helping each student reach their full potential.

Our IB Diploma Program is an academic two-year program that prepares students for success at the university level. The program offers a wide range of courses in the humanities, sciences, mathematics, and the arts. Students who complete the IB Diploma Program are highly sought-after by universities around the world.

I encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our school, our programs, and our community. I also encourage you to contact us if you have any questions or would like to schedule a visit.

VICE PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to AIS West High School! What an honor and a privilege to have you as part of our community. My name is Dina Sonbol and it is my pleasure to be able to serve as your High School Assistant Principal.

Like you, I have been an international student most of my life and have also been a teacher at international schools for most of my career. I have taught Science from grade 1 all the way up to IB in American schools, British schools and the IB DP Program, and I loved every moment of it. Making a difference in students’ lives and their education is an honor and a passion. It makes me smile when students feel at home in their classrooms. It is a real joy to see them become the best version of themselves that they can be, both academically and outside of the classroom.

I look forward to watching you grow and blossom at AIS West. I am here to support every one of you in every way. But I am also here to hold you to high standards because I believe you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
