1:1 computing is a model in which every student uses a laptop or tablet device to assist with their learning, discovery, and research. The purpose of a 1:1 program is to provide a more engaging experience for students that will positively impact the way teaching and learning take place.

As with all of the tools and approaches used, our goal with a 1:1 program is to develop in students the 21st Century skills they will need for future academic and employment success, including creativity, problem solving, and digital collaboration.

The infusion of technology provides a learning advantage when used at an appropriate time. iPads and MacBooks can be powerful learning tools.

As we continue to plan for the 2023–2024 school year, we are wanting to reduce the variety of computers in our classrooms, as it ensures that teachers can focus on teaching and learning and not deal with the management of multiple platforms. It is in no way an indictment of any one particular operating system, but more a decision based on what the majority of staff and students are familiar with.

Therefore, we look for your support with the following:

• Students enrolled in KG - Grade 2 will have access to iPads owned by the school
• Students enrolled in Grades 3 - 5 will be required to bring an Apple iPad to school that meets the AIS minimum requirement standards copied below 
• Students enrolled in Grades 6 - 12 will be required to bring an Apple MacBook that meets the AIS minimum requirement standards copied below
