Our athletics program is focused on student physical activity development. We strive for our student athletes to learn independence, teamwork, responsibility and leadership skills through sports and fitness.
Our mission is to teach and inspire our students to learn to better themselves using the following components in our program:
LOCAL and INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS
AFTER SCHOOL INTRA MURAL PROGRAMS
AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS CLUBS
Our PE CLASSES focus on building lifelong skills and stressing the importance of personal health, fitness, and nutrition. Teamwork, sportsmanship, self-motivation, self-esteem, individual sports skills, leadership qualities, and achieving personal potential are the key elements. High school students are also given the opportunity to take part in competitive sports module, which is aimed at students who excels in a particular sport.
Off-Site Learning – High school students are also given the opportunity to take part in off-campus learning to maximize engagement. High school students will have the opportunity to play sports such as golf, and squash at facilities AIS-West has links to.
The FIELD DAYS offer students a chance to explore new sports in a social competitive way. The serious athletes have a chance to be competitive while the not so serious can have some fun. We have the following FIELD DAYS: Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field and Kickball. The events are sometimes competed as homeroom classes or the students can make their own teams and play with their friends.
Our competitive sports program offers opportunities for students to play in LOCAL TOURNAMENTS as well as INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS. AIS West is a member of CISSA West (Cairo International School Sports Association) with other schools very close proximity to our campus. We are also a member of METS (Middle East Triangle) Sports Conference. Our competitive teams travel to Lebanon, Jordan, or Turkey for international competitions. We also attend other tournaments in countries such as Italy.
